Hello!
My name is Chase Carpenter, and I am currently a Junior at James Madison University, set to graduate in May 2026. I am pursuing a major in SMAD (School of Media Arts and Design) with a concentration in Creative Advertising, alongside a minor in Communications. Originally from Atlanta, GA, I am passionate about blending creativity with strategic communication to craft compelling advertising narratives.
My Story
I graduated from Decatur High School in Atlanta, Georgia, before heading north to James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. During my time at JMU, I pursued opportunities to connect with others and engage meaningfully in campus life. I founded Healthy Celebrations, a student running club that brought together fellow student runners to promote wellness and build community. I was also an active member of the Phi Mu sorority, where I served as house manager during the 2023, 2024 academic year and sat on the Honor Committee, helping to uphold standards of integrity within our chapter.

In the spring semester of my junior year, I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in London. While there, I took British digital media courses that exposed me to a broader range of advertising, branding, and communication strategies. This experience expanded my understanding of global media landscapes and inspired new ways of thinking about audience engagement and storytelling.

My coursework at JMU included a range of hands-on design projects using tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, Wix, and WordPress. In my UX Design class, I created an app prototype aimed at improving the group fitness class registration experience at our university gym. In my Advertising course, I collaborated on a blog project that highlighted influencers with disabilities, work that underscored the importance of inclusivity in digital media. Many of these projects are available in my portfolio.
Beyond the classroom, I worked as a barista at 7 Brew in Harrisonburg, where I developed strong customer service skills and thrived in a fast-paced environment. Last summer, I interned as a Content Marketing Intern at The Lola, a women’s co-working space in Atlanta. There, I supported event coordination, managed social media accounts, and engaged directly with the member community. I also used video editing software to produce engaging content tailored to The Lola’s platform, an experience that deepened my interest in digital storytelling and content strategy.

I'm passionate about creating meaningful digital experiences and building community through media. Feel free to explore my work, and don’t hesitate to reach out!
